SCOTT
BREZNOCK - Brewmaster
Scott grew up in the East Bay Area of Northern California.
At the age of 14, his interest in brewing was inspired
by an old set of home-brewing records that his father
once kept. The goal of brewing beer went largely
unrealized until the beginning of his college education.
During college, Scott frequently brewed at home
using malt extract and hops purchased from a local
supplier. Upon completion of his formal education,
with degrees in chemistry and biochemistry, he decided
to actively pursue a career in brewing. As a means
to this end, Scott built a 1/2bbl, 3 tier brewing
system, by which, he could learn the finer points
of the art of brewing.
To gain experience, Scott also interned at El Toro
Brewing Co., in Morgan Hill, California. During
this time he gained a great deal of knowledge about
the process of creating larger volumes of beer.
He was hired as head brewer of Ocean Brewing Company
in July of 1998. His current interests include:
cooking, classic automobile restoration and anything
to do with BEER! |
